「REALITY」は「なりたい自分で、生きていく。」というビジョンのもと、2018年8月にサービス提供を開始したスマートフォン向けメタバースです。スマートフォン1つで自分だけのオリジナルアバターを作成し、ライブ配信による交流やゲームを楽しむことができます。「ワールド」機能では、アバターの姿のまま3D仮想空間内で友だちとコミュニケーションを楽しむことができ、また、ライブ配信で受け取ったギフトを収益化することも可能です。
2018年8月にサービスの提供を開始して以来、「REALITY」は順調な成長を続け累計ダウンロード数は2023年11月に1,500万を突破しました。海外ユーザー比率は約8割（※）と高く、Z世代の若年層を中心とする世界中のユーザーに利用されるグローバルなメタバースプラットフォームとして成長を続けています。

「REALITY Avatar 2.0」では、「鼻」「輪郭」「彫りの深さ」といった顔の造形に関するカテゴリーが追加されたほか、体型の調整や、髪型、目、眉、髭、チークなどへの新アイテムの多数追加により、表現の幅が拡充し、より個性的なアバター作成が可能となります。

REALITY, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, CEO: Eiji Araki), a wholly owned subsidiary of GREE, Inc. announced today that it has released "REALITY Avatar 2.0" which significantly expands avatar expression in REALITY, the metaverse for smartphones, allowing users to express "whoever they want to be."
REALITY is a metaverse designed for smartphones that launched August 2018 under the vision of "We can be whoever we want." With just a smartphone, users can create their own original avatar and interact with other REALITY users via live streams or playing games. Users can also communicate with their friends in 3D virtual spaces called "Worlds", where they can freely move their avatar, and earn money from the gifts they receive while live-streaming.
Since its release in August 2018, REALITY has experienced persistent and steady growth, with total downloads exceeding 15 million in November 2023, and Japan to overseas usage ratio of approximately 80%* overseas users. REALITY is used worldwide, and is especially popular among Gen Z, and will continue to grow as a global metaverse platform.

With the increasing number of overseas users and the ever-increasing need for diversity, we have received many requests from users that they want to express their identity or "who they want to be" in more detail and more accurately on REALITY. In response to such voices, we have released "REALITY Avatar 2.0" which allows users with various ethnic or cultural backgrounds and identities to express themselves more freely, making REALITY’s vision "We can be whoever we want" into reality.
"REALITY Avatar 2.0" adds new categories for facial modeling such as "nose," "contour," and "sculpt depth," as well as body shape adjustments and many new items for hair, eyes, eyebrows, beards, and blush, expanding the range of expression and making it possible to create more unique avatars.
We at REALITY, Inc. will continue to develop services globally even more so that our customers can enjoy using our app with richer expression via avatars that can also facilitate more meaningful communication for a long time to come.
