After being turned down by Kaitlyn Bristowe on the last season of “The
Bachelorette,” Ben Higgins was lucky to be chosen as the next “Bachelor” to find
love in Season 20. Fans have been tuning in since Jan. 4, and got to watch
Higgins narrow down the women.

On March 14, we watched Higgins leave Lauren Bushnell in tears of joy as he
got down on one knee to propose on the season finale of “The Bachelor.”

Now that “The Bachelor” is finally over and it is not longer a mystery as to
who Higgins proposed to, the happy couple can start talking about their future
plans together. While some couples like to take it slow and slowly plan their
wedding during their engagement, Higgins and Bushnell are jumping straight into
planning a family.

Higgins and Bushnell are already making plans to create a home together,
despite living states apart. She is tired of the long distance and is making the
trek from Marina del Ray, Cali. to move in with Higgins in Denver.

“I’m just excited to grocery shopping together,” said Bushnell to People
magazine.

Higgins is also looking forward to the simple things, saying, “I want to hold
her hand in public. And I’m excited to work on our house together.”

Bushnell admitted that neither she nor Higgins want a long engagement, and
that they’ve already put some thought into their wedding.

“I want a huge reception. How often in life do all your friends and family
gather in one room to celebrate something?” said Higgins.

It looks like the two have already come down with baby fever when Higgins
revealed, “Lauren is a really good caretaker. She wants a dog and kids. First
we’ll get the dog!”

“We want three kids,” added Bushnell. “I want a girl in the mix.”

The couple just went on their first public date together after “The Bachelor”
finale. They ended their busy promotional tour in NYC by cozying up for some
French food at Landmarc restaurant.

“FIRST DATE many more to come,” Bushnell captioned an Instagram photo of the
couple’s hands next to their glass of wine, while also showing off her gorgeous
$100,000 Neil Lane engagement ring.

Higgins recently admitted that he was pretty sure he knew Bushnell was “the
one” as early as the second week of “The Bachelor.”

“We were in the mansion at the second cocktail party. I didn’t have a date
with her the first week and she walked around the corner with a smile on her
face and I looked at her and ... my world stopped,” said Higgins to EW. “I was
like ... it’s too good to be true. This shouldn’t happen in this scenario. The
whole time I thought, is my mind playing tricks on me? It never was.”
